About us

Fund SPS is a group of concerned Seattle Public Schools parents committed to advocating on behalf of all Seattle’s and Washginton’s kids. Districts around the state are confronted with the realities of an underfunded education and the results are detrimental to our children and their education.

Fund SPS is committed to providing easy to use tools to help create the lasting, sustained outreach necessary to fix school funding in Washington State. Our schools belong to the community, and it is both our right and duty to ensure that the legislature provides the resources necessary to support every child's development. Our children's future depends on a well-funded education system.

We understand that in Seattle we face additional unique challenges than some areas of the state. Our District is in crisis. The lack of accountability and financial oversight to address the budget deficit by the administration and the School Board is unacceptable. We will continue to work statewide and locally to ensure that Seattle’s students receive the stable, transparent, well-resourced, and safe educational environment they deserve.

How We Started
Fund SPS was started in June of 2024 as a committee of the North Beach Elementary PTA. The community recognized that the advocacy needed in Seattle extended beyond a single school building. We are proud to continue the PTA’s legacy of advocacy as we work for all Seattle Public School students.
