Email All School Board Directors: Urge Them to Halt School Closure Plans and Choose a Different Path Forward

Seattle Public Schools’ plan to close up to 21 schools is still on the table. Though only 4 schools are currently targeted (North Beach, Sacajawea, Stevens, and Sanislo), this phased approach threatens the stability of our school communities and will hurt students’ learning.

Board member Sarah Clark has voiced her concerns about this harmful plan and is calling for a new approach that focuses on equity, increased enrollment, and better financial solutions. Join us in supporting her vision by urging the Seattle School Board to take all closures off the table and prioritize solutions that keep all schools open and fully funded.

Fill out the letters below to email all 7 school board members to urge them to reject the plan and instead address the root causes of the budget crisis and enrollment challenges.

Ask Your Legislators to Invest in Our Children's Education

We are calling on our state legislators to prioritize K-12 education funding by securing an additional $4 billion for the 2025-2026 biennium. This critical investment will prevent devastating cuts to schools and ensure that all children across Washington receive the quality education they deserve.

Washington is one of the wealthiest states in the nation, yet we continue to underfund our public schools, leaving students' needs unmet. Now is the time to take bold action to protect our children’s future and invest in their education.

Use the links below to email your WA state legislators and urge them to provide immediate funding solutions, ensuring our schools remain strong and our children’s education is not compromised.

Ask Governor Inslee to Prioritize K-12 Education Funding

We are calling on Governor Inslee to include Superintendent Reykdal’s $2.9 billion K-12 Operating Budget request in the state's 2025–27 budget. This essential investment will prevent devastating cuts to schools and ensure that all children across Washington receive the quality education they deserve.

Stop Mega Elementary Schools: Urge the Seattle School Board to Vote NO on the BEX VI Levy Plans!

Seattle Public Schools (SPS) is pushing forward with plans to build oversized, one-size-fits-all mega elementary schools without securing public support or providing evidence that these schools will benefit students. These decisions, made without community input, have caused a severe loss of public trust and are surfacing in recent discussions around school closures. We need to act now to redirect funding to middle and K-8 schools until a better, community-driven model for elementary education is developed. The BEX VI Capital Levy funds the construction, modernization, and renovation of school buildings to address overcrowding, safety concerns, and infrastructure needs across the district. You can read more details here.

Join us in telling the Seattle School Board to vote NO on the BEX VI Levy mega school plans. Sign the letter and demand a more equitable, transparent approach to our children’s education!

Ask the Mayor and City Council to Protect Seattle’s Schools and Communities

We need Mayor Harrell and the Seattle City Council to take immediate action to prevent the closure of 21 elementary schools across Seattle. These closures will not solve the financial challenges facing our school district and will only harm students, families, and neighborhoods.

Strong schools are essential to the future of our city. Families are drawn to communities with a well-funded, stable school system, and the closure of so many schools would have lasting effects on Seattle’s appeal and livability. It’s time for Mayor Harrell and the City Council to step up and work with parents, educators, and city leaders to find sustainable, long-term solutions.

Use the links below to email Mayor Harrell and the Seattle City Council. Urge them to get involved and work alongside parents, educators, and city leaders to find real, long-term solutions that protect our children’s education and preserve Seattle’s community spirit.
